MAST Commitment

Makalu Arun Social Trek (MAST) is committed to providing excellent service to you throughout your journey with us. Your porter guide will perform his duties with the utmost care and the highest standards of honesty to ensure that your holiday runs smoothly with fun. We make every effort to ensure that you are comfortable during your trip.

Social trek Booking confirmation

After everything is clear between you and our service and its cost,  we hope to receive a confirmation email message from you. Then we will summarize your complete program and its cost to receive from you  (USD) and will send you. After that, you will have to send us a copy of your passport as well as your passport size photo to apply for your TIMS card.   We will keep a hard copy of the complete program summary. You can also carry a copy of it in case it is necessary.

Refunds and Cancellations

 Sometimes you may have to cancel your confirmed program booking with us because of your illness or your any other household problem. In such a condition you can cancel your program by sending us an email to our email ID as soon as possible.  At that time we will write to you about the minimum program booking cancellation charge.

Unforeseen Circumstances:

We shall not be responsible for any loss or damage of any kind to your personal belongings because of the service provider, and any delay, cancellation, or disruption in any manner caused by government regulation, action or intervention, natural disasters, war, terrorism, theft, sickness, accidents and any other causes beyond our control.

In the event that we must cancel your trip due to the unforeseeable, we will arrange an alternative holiday of equivalent or similar standard and price on a different date. If this is not suitable, all money paid by you to us will be refunded. Any other expenses incurred by you as a result of this booking cannot be refunded.

Itinerary Amendments

 We would also like to make it clear to you that we are flexible enough in our fixed itinerary for you. After you, our porter and our company representative meet together in Khandbari we hope to hear any special interest from you. Then together we can do some changes to the itinerary as per your time, choice, and interest. If we do some changes to the itinerary, it may affect the total cost. In such a condition you may have to pay us more or less than the already fixed price of your program.

Incomplete tours:

Sometimes you commence your program, but unfortunately, you may not be able to complete it because of bad weather, your illness, or another unfavorable condition. In such a condition we will be sorry we will not be able to refund you any amount of money.

Risk and Responsibilities

We would like to make it clear to you that we will employ a well-experienced porter to guide you from the local community. Since the guide is leading your trek with light luggage, he will take care of you very well and will ensure your safety throughout the trek.  We also hope you are aware of the inherent risks and dangers in this type of travel and its related activities. We also hope that you are in good physical, mental and medical health in order to participate in our trekking program.

Code of Conduct:

We are fully sure that you travel responsibly, and respect the traditions and cultures of the local people. We reserve the right to act as an authority during your trip. If you commit any unlawful act, you may be asked to leave the tour. No refund will be made in such cases.

Travel Insurance 

Before you take part in our trekking program you must have obtained comprehensive travel insurance from any insurance company in your hometown. Your policy should cover death, personal accidents, medical expenses, natural disasters, helicopter evacuation, trip cancellation, etc.

Personal Belongings:

We take every precaution to ensure that your luggage is handled with great care. We suggest carrying the most valuable goods, money, etc. in your backpack.  Your porter guide will carry the less valuable goods in a rucksack.   We are sorry to tell you that our porter guide will not be liable for any loss or damage of any kind to luggage or personal effects, including fragile, valuable, or perishable articles incurred during transportation under circumstances beyond our control.

Passport, Visa, and Travel Documents:

You are responsible for all necessary documents, including passports, visas, and permits. We shall not be held liable for any difficulties you may encounter at the time of departure or arrival by air or overland due to incorrect information or travel documents.

Flight Delay and Cancellation

You agree to reserve extra days in case of delays pre-or post-tour or trek as the weather can be unpredictable due to the altitude and climate in the Himalayan region and flight delays remain relatively high, particularly in the Everest region (Lukla, Jomsom, Dolpa, Simikot, Jumla, and Tumling Tar). You also understand that patience and proper preparation beforehand are essential for this type of travel.
